Crochet Pattern-a-Day 2010 Desk Calendar

Good Morning

Good Morning!

Well. We had to split kids last night for the Annual Christmas Concerts. Dale went to Marissa’s because that required “night” driving and I went to Juniors because it was in walking distance of the house. We had a good time. He played his viola and I recorded it. The pre-k kids were adorable as ususal. There was one cute little boy who cried the entire time during their act. The kids did a great job and a good time was had by all.

Fanfiction Archive

Fanfiction Archives. Farscape Escape Fanfiction Archive is back up and running. Feel free to join and post all your old fics etc. I am still working on a Farscape themed template but that’s just window dressing.

Spinning: Working on some roving I ordered from Wysteria. Spinning it on my spindle I got from Maryland Sheep and wool last year. Not sure if in 2010 I will be going with the Knitting Guild or going for an extended visit. Since we are trying to stick to Dave Ramsey’s plan to financial freedom and debt free living I will probably go with the Guild for the day trip up.

Yarn for Breakfast Christmas Party

Saturday evening we had our Yarn for Breakfast Christmas Party and it was a blast. They renamed my husband’s chocolate mint bowl cake, “Hot Sex in a Bowl.”  Geraldine (came in late after the grand renaming) said the cake was so good she went back for seconds…which caused me a great amount of humor knowing the new name as I did. The Pollyanna was fun. The dead body in the bag turned out to be a beautiful Christmas wreath. The limp package (which I picked) turned out to be a nice bag for my long knitting needles. Never again will I be stabbed in the ass by a stray needle.

Monday, Nov. 7, 2009: The Knitting Guild had their Annual X-mas Party. I didn’t read the newsletter…I know shame on me so I didn’t know it was the “Annual X-mas Party” so I didn’t bring anything for the Pollyanna :( . But it was a good time and good food. I will print out some of the newsletters and take to one of my Yarn for Breakfast meetings to see if I can recruit some more members for the guild as our days will not conflict.

Monday’s are a raiding night for me for World of Warcraft and I got home 30 min lates but the raid had been called due to lack of interest….shame on me. The Death Bringers of Azjol Nerub is a fun guild to be in.

Happy Thanksgiving

I just wanted to wish all my friends, readers, and family a safe Holiday. I could go on about taking time for blah blah and this and that and being blessed and blah blah this and that but I don’t have time to wax poetic. Just be safe out there if you are getting on the road. I love you all.

But her face

Spin, draft, twist, wind.

LOL. KC taught me a new expression. She’s a Butterface. Everything’s alright but her face…get it …Buttahface.

Saw this book on a blog

I saw some tube sock patterns when she posted a couple pics from this book. I wanted to try them then maybe I can graduate to more involved sock patterns.

What not to wear for a Job Interview!

Okay a little back story. I work at a legal office at the front desk. Beside us there is a large company that is constantly having interviews for new reps. Needless to say at least 4 times a week we have job interviewers accidentally coming through our door instead of the company doing the hiring.

Now…if you are going to a job interview:

…don’t show up wearing the clothes you wore to the club the night before.
…don’t show up smelling like you just tested every bottle of cologne or perfume at the local mall..at each and every department store.
…don’t show up smelling like you test every cigarette lot that comes out of Winston
…don’t show up smelling like you just unhooked your I.V. from the tap at the local bar.
…don’t show up smelling like you haven’t had a bath for three or four days.
…don’t show up with your 5 doorstep kids in tow and ask me if it’s okay to leave them here while you go over there. Do I look like Mary Poppins to you?
…don’t show up wearing your corner clothes…I don’t want to see your assets nor your twins. I can’t speak for the men who work in my office just for the heterosexual women here. I’m sure their employment ad wasn’t for a stripper nor personal escort and considering you can’t follow directions I doubt you’d come highly recommended as you probably can’t find your Johns either.
…don’t show up looking like you haven’t had any sleep for the last four days.
…don’t show up with your blue-tooth on your ear talking to it and me at the same time while I’m trying to tell your dumb ass you are in the wrong building.
…don’t ask me if you can use my phone or if I can call this number you’ve scribbled on a want ad.
…don’t tell me that you know you are in the right place. We aren’t hiring.
…The suit and tie was a good idea. If you aren’t going to wear a jacket how about you tuck in your shirt tails it ruined the professional interviewee look.

more to come.
